Kanye West has already established quite a reputation during Fashion Week for staging the most elaborate and interesting fashion-slash-performance art pieces as he unveils his collections, with the assistance of his collaborator Vanessa Beecroft.
But apparently this year's event worked the last nerve of every fashionista in attendance. Starting nearly two hours late and taking place on Roosevelt Island— a fairly remote location that required well-heeled attendees to be shipped from Manhattan by courtesy shuttles, only to have no shade on an 80+ degree day when they got there—the subsequent reaction on social media was pretty shady.
And then the fashion show started.

But Yeezy did secure a superstar turnout, as always, with Pharrell Williams, La La Anthony, Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, most of his G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam artists (Desiigner, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor and newest signing Tyga) and of course bestie Anna Wintour from Vogue all there to support.
Wintour's fashion bible has been decidedly supportive of the show in print, while others described the experience as being "kidnapped."
