HEAVIES JOIN GAGA ON NEW SINGLE (UPDATE)

Lady Gaga’s first piece of new music since “Til It Happens to You” from the 2015 documentary The Hunting Ground has arrived. The Interscope diva's new track, “Perfect Illusion,” landed on all DSPs on Thursday night/Friday morning (depending ony our time zone).

The song is a high-end collaboration with co-producers Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, “Uptown Funk!”), Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and the buzzing BloodPop (who springboarded from working with Grimes to Justin Bieber’s “Sorry”). It immediately flew to #1 at iTunes, unseating those irrepressible Chainsmokers.

Gaga tweeted the title and release date Tuesday, and leaked what appeared to be four lines of the lyric, along with a collage of photos, Wednesday morning.

The single appears just five days before Gaga returns for her second season of American Horror Story, premiering Wednesday at 10 ET/PT on FX.

Little is yet known about Gaga’s upcoming album, but NME reports that Nile Rodgers, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Giorgio Moroder and RedOne (“Bad Romance,” “Poker Face”) are among the contributors.
