WARNER U.K. FORMS DANCE LABEL

Humming “We Got the Beat” before cutting a rug with their new label partners are, from left, Warner Music U.K.’s SVP Legal & Business Affairs James Radice; WMUK Chairman & CEO Max Lousada; 2TE Records’ chief Shaurav D’Silva; Warner Bros. Records UK President Phil Christie and lawyer Stephen Luckman.

Max Warner Music U.K. will launch urban and dance imprint 2TE Records in January to sit under the Warner Bros. Records U.K. imprint helmed by recently promoted President Phil Christie. 3Beat's A&R man Shaurav D’Silva has been tapped to lead.

D’Silva joins from indie 3Beat, where he signed Sigma (two #1 singles) and Fuse ODG (two Top 5 singles).

“Phil is making his mark on the label, he’s launching this dynamic new imprint at the same time as bringing in brilliant new talent—from seasoned A&R execs like Shaurav to iconic artists like Liam Gallagher to hot new acts like Dua Lipa,” Lousada said.

Christie added: “Shaurav is a proven and impressive A&R with a track record for signing massive hits with interesting artists—he follows talent, not the crowd.

“We want to work with the broadest range of acts on our roster at WB and I’m confident he’ll deliver great music from a broad spectrum of artists and bring a new energy to the label.”

Lousada has restructured WMG U.K. with the vision of turning the major into a family of frontline labels that consists of Warner Bros U.K., Miles Leonard’s Parlophone, which includes dance label FFRR, and Ben Cook’s Atlantic. We’ve heard rumours that suggest another new label could be on the way. Stay tuned.
