U.K. CHARTS: DOUBLE WIN FOR SONY

Jason Iley’s Sony Music U.K. has scored a chart-topping double in the Official Singles and Albums Charts this week, thanks to Barbra Streisand and The Chainsmokers. So where’s Britney?

Streisand has scored her seventh #1 album in Blighty with Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway (Columbia) ending the week on 20k combined sales. The feat cements Streisand’s position as the second most successful solo female in U.K. chart history, behind Madonna (who has notched up 12 #1 albums). In another score for Sony, Britney’s Glory (RCA) ends the week at #2. The entry marks a fifth #2 album for the star.

Last week’s #1, Frank Ocean’s Blonde (Boys Don’t Cry), slips to #3, Dolly Parton’s Pure & Simple (Sony) is down to #4 and twenty one pilots reach a new peak with Blurryface (Atlantic) jumping six places to #5.

Over on the Official Singles Chart, The Chainsmokers f/Halsey’s “Closer” (RCA) has ended the five-week reign of “Cold Water” (Because Music). “Closer” is the group’s first #1 single in the U.K. and finished the week on 80k combined sales.

DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You” (Polydor) holds at #2 and Major Lazer, Bieber and ’s “Cold Water” drops to #3.

At #4 is the summer’s most downloaded single in the U.K., Calum Scott's cover of Robyn's “Dancing On My Own” (Virgin EMI), and twenty one pilots' “Heathens” (Atlantic) finishes at #5.
