Lots of talk at the label level about data-crunching company BuzzAngle, which is rapidly gaining traction and appears to be the new go-to analytics tool for marketing execs and radio programmers, who like the “drill-downable” features of the Jim Lidestri-led service. The integration of Mediabase radio data, meanwhile, in a deal spearheaded by Alissa "Force of Nature" Pollack, has accelerated the industry’s fixation. Based on the, um, buzz currently around BuzzAngle, some are wondering if SoundScan is looking over its shoulder.
