FLIPOVER FRIDAY: ITUNES AND APPLE MUSIC NEW ARRIVALS

Big Machine Label Group’s Florida Georgia Line and RCA’s Britney Spears take the top two positions in the early morning race of new releases. Dig Your Roots, the third album from the team of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, sits in the pole position as one of eight rookies in the iTunes Top 10 on flipover Friday.

The 17-track deluxe edition of Brit’s Glory comes in at #2, two slots ahead of Barbra Streisand collection of duets, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway (Columbia).

Hip-hop’s representation on the Friday flip is limited to two releases: Young Thug’s No, My Name is JEFFREY (WMG) and the first album in 15 years from De La Soul, titled and the Anonymous Nobody… (A.O.I.). They occupy slots 5 and 7, respectively. JEFFREY is the top new title on Apple Music’s Top 10 albums chart, sitting at #2.

Ingrid Michaelson comes in between those two with her Cabin 24 Records release It Doesn’t Have to Make Sense.

Indie British rock act Glass Animals roar in at #8 with How to Be a Human Being (Wolf Tone Limited) and School Boy/Interscope’s Carly Rae Jepsen sees her Emotional Side B flip in at #9.

On Apple Music’s album chart, Vince Staples’ surprise EP Prima Donna (ARTium/Def Jam) opens the day at #6, the morning after debuting the seven-song set on Beats 1 radio.
