Epic's alt-rock stars KONGOS will headline the Catalina Wine Mixer on 9/23-25, an event that was once a madcap conceit in the comedy flick Step Brothers and is now, for the second year running, a real thing (as covered, this fine morning, by TMZ). The band's manager, Marc Pollack, will not be quaffing any Cabernet when the band takes the stage on Saturday night of the fest, but he will be showcasing his complete set of KONGOS action figures.
The South Africa-bred bros, meanwhile, add to their Cali conquests by appearing on Kimmel next Tuesday (8/23) and have booked a night at L.A.'s storied Wiltern on 10/28. No word yet whether they'll be moving into their own wing of L.A. Reid's new place.
