City of Hope’s Spirit of Life kickoff event feting super-attorney Joel Katz, this year’s honoree, is set for 8/29 at Fig & Olive in West Hollywood. During the invitation-only breakfast, Sir Lucian Grainge and Irving Azoff will rise from their chairs and shower the universally adored Atlanta-based barrister with effusive praise.

The event marks the official start of the Spirit of Life campaign, which will culminate at a gala in L.A. on 11/10. Katz will receive City of Hope's highest honor in recognition of the impact of his work on the music, film and entertainment industries. Katz has played a profound role in spearheading philanthropic endeavors in education and in cancer research.
