In case you missed the earlier update, the brouhaha over whether the parachute imagery in the Katy Perry "Rise" video was copped from the clip for Olivia Somerlyn's "Parachute" drew a response from both producers' rep Iconoclast ("any similarity is pure coincidence") and "Parachute" director Ryan Pallota, who hailed "Rise" director Paul Gore's reputation and also said "I would chalk this up to coincidence." "Rise," of course, is Capitol megastar Perry's theme for NBC's Olympics coverage. Speaking of the games, manager Martin Kirkup is favored as a medalist in the Men's Freestyle Whining competition.
