The new smash from Major Lazer, Justin Bieber and MØ, “Cold Water” (Because), has injected some long-awaited drama into the U.K. Singles Chart as it heads toward #1 on Friday.
Drake’s “One Dance” (Island) has dropped to #5 after a long 15-week reign at #1. At #2 is Jonas Blue f/JP Cooper with “Perfect Strangers” (Virgin EMI), followed by Chainsmokers f/Daya with “Don’t Let Me Down” (RCA) at #3 and Calum Scott’s “Dancing On My Own” (Virgin EMI) at #4.
Over on the Official Albums chart, ELO’s best of compilation All Over the World (Epic) has risen six places to top the chart at midway stage, more than a decade since its original release. The sales surge was powered by a 6/26 performance at Glastonbury, and the album hasn’t left Blighty's top 10 since.
Indie band Bear’s Den looks set to end the week at #2 with second album Red Earth & Pouring Rain (Communion), while Christine & The Queens’ Chaleur Humaine (Because) holds at #3.
Adele’s 25 (XL) falls two places to #4 and Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams (Parlophone) stays at #5.
