TAG THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

Toyota’s use of El Chuape’s “Ponme to Eso Palante” to promote the 2017 Camry hits the accelerator for the Dominican rapper on the Shazam USA Top 100 chart. Rising 124 slots, the chart's biggest mover plays on the carmaker’s “Presidential Escort” commercial.

“Ponme to Eso Palante” was released in 2012 by its producer, DJ Kennedy, and was promptly banned in the Dominican Republic for violating the morals and customs of the country. The ruling was eventually overturned, and the song appeared on multiple Latin hit compilations in 2013.

Elsewhere on the chart, Americans continue to catch up with the rest of the world on the international sensation Kungs vs Cookin’ on 3 Burners’ “This Girl,” released in the U.S. by New Casablanca/Republic.

The ballad for The Legend of Tarzan from Rubyworks/Columbia’s Hozier, “Better Love,” rises as the Warner Bros. film opened in theaters 7/1. Lukas Graham’s “Mama Said” (Warner Bros.), a hit in Scandinavia in summer 2014, continues to build on the Shazam and Hot AC charts simultaneously. And “Into You” from Republic’s Ariana Grande is starting to build a head of steam having been released to Pop and Hot AC at the end of June.

Monkey Puzzle/RCA's Sia sits at #1 on the USA leaderboard with "Cheap Thrills.

In the U.K., “This Girl” is sitting at #1 as the most Shazamed song in the country. The Future Hits chart could be a source of confusion as Polydor’s M.O, a pop girl trio, and Sony’s , a Danish singer-songwriter, are neck and neck with “Who Do You Think Of?” and “Final Song.” One more on the chart and we’ll be singing a new version of Andrea True’s disco classic—“Mo, Mo, Mo.”
