NO CLOCK ON PRINCE ESTATE CASE

A Minnesota judge has told potential heirs to Prince’s estate he is in no hurry to make any decisions.

Carver County District Judge Kevin Eide told lawyers gathered in court 6/27 in Chaska, Minn., that DNA tests may be required of claimants and questions about determining kinship with Prince may be sent to a higher court. His preliminary ruling won't come for at least two weeks, USA Today reported.

Prince’s death on 4/21 at his Paisley Park compound outside Minneapolis is still under investigation.

Prince’s one full sister, Tyka Nelson, a half-dozen known half-siblings or their descendants and others claiming to be half-siblings or secret children have attempted to lay claim to Prince’s $300m estate, which cannot earn revenue until heirs are named.  In January, the estate has to pay up to 57% of the total valuation in federal and state taxes, which has led some lawyers to push for a speedy resolution to the case.
