LEANN RIMES INKS WITH RCA U.K.

LeAnn Rimes has signed to Colin Barlow’s Sony U.K. imprint RCA, after time spent going through Kobalt and Curb overseas. It’s the second investment Jason Iley’s label has made in country music of late, following a deal with duo Ward Thomas earlier this year.

“LeAnn Rimes is one of the music business’s finest singers, and it’s an absolute pleasure to welcome her to the RCA U.K. family,” Barlow said.

Rimes’ first single to be released through her new deal will be “The Story” on 8/5. It’s taken from her 16th studio album that will follow later this year. Those working on the project in Blighty are marketing man Simon Forbes, with Nicholas Goree taking charge of national radio and Lynn Swindlehurst regional. TV is Nick Seifert and press is Sarah Hall. Details on her label outside of the U.K. will be revealed soon.

Globally, Rimes has sold more than 44m units, winning two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and one Country Music Association Award. Her debut album Blue (Curb) was released 20 years ago this year.
