U.K. CHARTS: CATFISH TAKES A WINDOWED RIDE TO #1

Island U.K. band Catfish and the Bottlemen have scored their first #1 album in Blighty, with second effort The Ride reaching the Official Albums summit with combined chart sales of 38k. The record is the latest in a series of Spotify hold-outs.

The Ride was available on premium-only services, which turned out to be a smart decision. The band's debut, The Balcony, peaked at #10 on the U.K. chart in 2014.

Staying put at #2 this week is Drake’s Views (Island), which is the most streamed collection. Beyoncé’s Lemonade (RCA) is up one place to #3. Ahead of their four Wembley Arena (12.5k cap.) dates mid June, Coldplay are back in the Top 5 with A Head Full of Dreams (Parlophone) at #4. ‘80s band ABC are a new entry at #5 withThe Lexicon of Love II (Virgin EMI); their first Top 10 in 26 years.

Over on the Official Singles Chart, Drake is still #1. “One Dance” has now stolen the top spot for the eighth week, and is the longest-running U.K. chart-topper since Rihanna’s smash “Umbrella” enjoyed a 10-week run in 2007. "One Dance" has notched up just under 85k combined chart sales.
Rihanna and Calvin Harris are at #3 with “This is What You Came For” (Columbia),Galantis hit a new peak at #4 with “No Money” (Atlantic) and Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” (RCA/Monkey Puzzle) finishes at #5.
