YOUR THREE-DAY WEEKEND BOX OFFICE
The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films Over Memorial Day Weekend

Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse scored biggest at the domestic box office with $65m from the three-day holiday weekend. Although the number does fall within the studio's predictions, it happens to mark only the sixth most successful three-day cume in the franchise's history. It's also worth noting that the film earned a dismal 48% at Rotten Tomatoes.

The only other debut in the Top 5—Alice Through the Looking Glass—landed at #2 with $28m, bringing Disney right up to about $4b earned at the global box office so far this year.

1. X-Men: Apocalypse (Fox) $65m 4,150/$15,663 avg. (debut)
2. Alice Through the Looking Glass (Disney) $28m 3,763/$7,471 avg. (debut)
3. The Angry Birds Movie (Sony) $19m 3,932/$4,756 avg. (week 2)
4. Captain America: Civil War (Disney) $15m 3,395/$4,458 avg. (week 4)
5. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (Universal) $9m 3,416/$2,664 avg. (week 2)

Meanwhile, as Amazon and Roadside's Love & Friendship expanded out of limited release, tacking on 446 theaters for a total of 493, the film earned around $2.5m, along with more glowing reviews. FYI, the Jane Austen adaptation and Kate Beckinsale-starrer has an awesome 99% at Rotten Tomatoes
