U.K. MIDWEEKS: JT, RCA CAN’T STOP

Jason Iley’s Sony U.K. is in for an excellent week, as Justin Timberlake heads toward his fifth #1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart with “Can’t Stop the Feeling” (RCA). The track is currently 6k in sales ahead of Calvin and Rihanna’s “This Is What You Came For” (Columbia).

Timberlake was the star at this weekend’s 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, watched by an average of 7.1m viewers on the BBC, on which he performed his new single. “Can’t Stop the Feeling” has been added to the BBC Radio 1 B list and is #1 on the Radiomonitor charts this rolling week.

Drake is down two places to #3 with “One Dance” (Island) and the Stone Roses have shot to #4 with comeback single “All for One” (Virgin EMI). Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” (Monkey Puzzle/RCA) is spending its eighth week within the Top 5 at #5.

On the Official Albums midweek stage, Beyoncé's Lemonade (RCA) is on course to return to #1 for a second time, followed by Drake’s Views (Island). New Epic act Kygo enters at #3 with debut Cloud Nine, and last week’s #1, Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool (XL), falls to #4. Meghan Trainor completes the Top 5 with Thank You, giving RCA U.K. boss Colin Barlow four entries in the midweek Top 5 singles and albums chart in Blighty, and bringing the total tally from Iley's labels (including Columbia and Epic) up to six. Jolly good job, squires.
