HOT TUNA ADD MUSEUM STOP TO GRAMMY SHOW

Hot Tuna’s Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady, founding members of Jefferson Airplane, will perform two Airplane hits with singer Cathy Richardson on the Grammy Salute to Music Legends special being filmed for PBS on Saturday (4-23). The following day, Jorma and Jack will discuss their career at the Grammy Museum in a conversation with Scott Goldman, Vice President of the Grammy Foundation and MusiCares.

Besides guitarist Jorma and bassist Jack, the Grammy Salute will feature performances from Ry Cooder, Henry Gray and Magnolia Sisters, who will honor Arhoolie Records founder Chris Strachwitz, a recipient of the Trustees Award. Other honorees are Ruth Brown, Celia Cruz, Earth, Wind & Fire, Herbie Hancock, Linda Ronstadt and Run DMC. Don Was is the music director. The concert will be held at the Dolby Theater and will air later this year.

Hot Tuna, which will alternate tours between acoustic and electric versions through November, plans to release an acoustic album in 2017.
