U.K. CHARTS: DRAKE, LUMINEERS LAND AT #1

U.S. acts rule the British charts this week. The Lumineers land their first #1 album with Cleopatra, while Drake scores a first of his own with “One Dance” at the top of the Official Singles Chart.

The Lumineers are signed to UMG label Decca in Blighty, led by MD Rebecca Allen. This week’s Official Albums #1 was a very close battle, and Cleopatra finished just 301 combined sales ahead of its nearest rival, Adele’s 25 (XL), despite very little radio support. 25, meanwhile, rises two places to #2.

Comeback queens All Saints finish at #3 with Red Flag (AS/London), while choirboy Aled Jones climbs to #4 with One Voice (Classic FM) and DeftonesGore (Reprise) enters at #5.

Over on the Official Singles side, Drake has secured his first #1 as a solo artist, as “One Dance” f/Wizkid and Kyla (Island) jumps 20 places, with combined first-week sales of 72k.

Sia sits at #2 with “Cheap Thrills” (Monkey Puzzle/RCA), 5.5k sales behind Drake. Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island) settles for third place after a long reign at the top but takes the title of this week’s most-streamed track.

Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” (SYCO) drops one place to #4, and Zara Larsson holds at #5 with “Lush Life” (Black Butter/Epic/Ten).
