SUMMER OF LOVE,
SPRING OF REGRET

Given the hugely entertaining backstage dust-up at the 4/8 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, this seems like a good time to take another look at Bud Scoppa’s career overview of Steve Miller—or, more accurately, The Steve Miller Band—originally posted in Critics' Choice following the 12/17 announcement of Miller’s induction. As Scoppa points out, the Top 40 hitmaker who authored such ear-candy classics as "Take the Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle" and "Jet Airliner" is just one of several distinct Steve Millers who appeared between San Francisco’s Summer of Love and the dawn of the MTV era.
