BREAKING BRITISH: ISLAND RECORDS' DNCE UP THE CHARTS

Darcus Beese’s UMG U.K. label Island Records boasts the hottest breaking tracks in Blighty this week as Drake f/Wizkid & Kyla’s “One Dance” looks set to hit #1 on the Official Singles Chart on Friday, while “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE also makes leaps at both radio and the Official Singles Chart.

“Cake by the Ocean” is holding strong at #2 on the Radiomonitor charts and improved three places to reach #8 at midweek stage on the Official Singles Chart. The track is on the A List at BBC Radio 1 and playlisted at Capital FM and Bauer’s KISS. It currently sits at #14 on Spotify’s United Kingdom Top 50 chart, #7 on the iTunes Singles Chart and #2 on the Official Trending Chart.

Meanwhile, the second part of Drake’s surprise single release bundle—“Pop Style” f/The Throne—looks set to chart at #29 in its first week, as “One Dance” rockets to the top, with radio support from BBC, KISS and Capital.

Meghan Trainor
’s “No” is another one to watch, released via Sony’s RCA in the U.K. That one’s currently #18 on the Radiomonitor charts and #6 at iTunes. It also vaulted #23-11 on the Official Singles Chart midweek sales flash following Trainor’s appearance on The Graham Norton Show and The Voice over the weekend.
