It's time once again to track the progress of Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!" (RCA) on the list of all-time top-selling singles. Having moved just under 7.15m YTD, the song has now passed "Firework" by Capitol's Katy Perry to seize the #15 spot. It will surpass Fun's "We Are Young" for the #14 spot next week. After that, the Grammy-winning, Bruno Mars-driven party jam will have a bit of a climb.
Meanwhile, Pharrell Williams' "Happy" (Columbia) is on the cusp of the all-time Top 10 with nearly 7.33m; it's set to take the #10 spot from "Low" by Flo Rida next week. Somewhere, at this very moment, a sugar-crazed toddler is demanding that her sleep-deprived mom download "Happy"and play it RIGHT NOW.
At the top of the mountain? The Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling" (Interscope) with nearly 8.8m, followed by Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" (XL/Columbia) with almost 8.6m. Stay tuned.
