DERULO TO HOST HOOPS-THEMED iHEARTRADIO
MUSIC AWARDS

The iHeartRadio Music Awards will be hosted this year by Warner Bros. hitmaker Jason Derulo, iHeartMedia announced this morning. The third annual awards show will air live from the Fabulous Forum on TBS, TNT and truTV at 8 ET/5 PT on Sunday, 4/3. The Turner Networks’ inaugural simulcast of the special is slotted between TBS’ coverage of the NCAA Final Four on Saturday and the NCAA National Championship Monday.

The event will be simulcast on iHeartMedia stations nationwide, as well as on the iHeartRadio digital music platform.

Confirmed performers include Justin Bieber, Meghan Trainor, ZAYN, Chris Brown, DNCE, Fetty Wap and Demi Lovato who were added to the list of already announced performers including with more to come. The telecast will also feature special performances by Pitbull and Maroon 5 that will be simulcast from the Capital One JamFest, part of the March Madness Music Festival taking place in Houston.

"Over the past four years, we have seen Jason evolve into a global superstar," said John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for iHeartMedia. "When we were choosing a host, there was no doubt in our minds that Jason was the man for the job."

No Sykes quote would feel complete without one from Tom Poleman, and the President of iHeartMedia's National Programming Group complied, noting that Derulo “embodies all of the qualities of the perfect host for our show,” and describing him as “a creative and talented artist with the same passion and energy as our fans, making him the perfect bridge between the two groups."

Fan voting will determine the winners in numerous categories. Votes can be logged at iheartradio.com/awards.
