As part of part of the First Lady’s visit to South by Southwest and in alignment with International Women’s Day, iHeartMedia radio stations world today premiered "This Is For My Girls," a song written by Diane Warren and featuring Kelly Clarkson, Chloe & Halle, Missy Elliott, Jadagrace, Lea Michele, Janelle Monáe, Kelly Rowland and Zendaya.
The new song is an integral part of Michelle Obama's initiative to help adolescent girls complete their education, called Let Girls Learn.
The recording and distribution of the song will be a joint effort between Apple, AOL, iHeartMedia, Full Picture and Motown Records, with each company taking on a unique role in support.
Apple is donating proceeds from purchases of "This Is For My Girls" through iTunes U.S. to the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund. The participating creatives have donated their royalty fees to the Fund as well.
Full Picture will be managing relationships between all the rights holders.
AOL live-streamed the First Lady's SXSW event today.
