Warner act Lukas Graham have scored a fifth week at #1 on the U.K.'s Official Singles Chart with “7 Years” now stealing the title of the longest-reigning #1 from a Danish act in British chart history. “7 Years” finished 20k combined sales ahead of its nearest rival, while Adele is still Queen of the Official Albums Chart.
Lukas Graham also boast the most-streamed track this week with “7 Years” tallying 4.52m listens. There's high hopes for their album, which is out on 4/1. In the running for stealing the top singles spot is Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill In Ibiza” (Island), which climbs one place to #2, and enjoys a 45% increase in radio plays, sitting at #12 on the RadioMonitor charts. Elsewhere at U.K. radio, Walking on Cars’ “Speeding Cars” (Virgin EMI) is also a big improver, with plays up 64% on last week, rising 33 places to #21.
Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home” featuring Ty Dolla $ign (SYCO) is one to watch, released on 2/26, it’s #11 on the Official Singles Chart, #3 on iTunes, and was added to the Capital FM playlist this week.
Thanks to the continued success of Adele’s tour, 25 (XL) is spending its 10th non-consecutive week at the top of the Official Albums Chart, selling over two and a half times that of nearest rival—which is Jess Glynne with debut I Cry When I Laugh (Atlantic), up four places at #2.
Justin Bieber's Purpose (Virgin EMI) holds steady at #3, David Bowie's hits retrospective Best of… (Parlophone) is a non-mover at #4, and Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams (Parlophone) also stays firm at #5. Kendrick Lamar has scored his second Top 10 “non-album” album in the U.K. with untitled unmastered (Aftermath/Interscope), debuting at #7.
