ZARA SCALES THE CHARTS

Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson is this week's rising star in Blighty, boasting three entries in the U.K. Top 40 Official Singles Chart, including debut solo single “Lush Life” moving two places to #4. Signed to Henry Village and Joe Gossa’s Sony U.K. imprint Black Butter (and Epic in the U.S.) Larsson is also known for MNEK duet “Never Forget You" (Virgin EMI) which is currently at #29, while Tinie Tempah collaboration "Girls Like" (Parlophone) sits at #15.

“Lush Life” is on the A List at BBC Radio 1 and playlisted at Kiss, Capital and BBC Radio 2, with nearly 4k plays this week, improving one place to #5 on the RadioMonitor charts.

The track has been a successful slow burner, steadily scaling the Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the last nine weeks, climbing 88-72-40-27-19-16-9-6-4.

Larsson has already had success with "Lush Life"—which boasts over 190m global streams on Spotify—in other parts of Europe, including hitting #1 in her home country where she’s signed to indie label Ten Music Group (that also look after Icona Pop). Can it go all the way and hit #1 in the U.K.? Watch this space.

In other Official Singles Chart news, Warner band Lukas Graham are still holding on to the top singles spot for the fourth week in a row with “7 Years” recording 106k sales since 2/26—a number that’s higher than the single’s first week at #1. Rihanna and Drake’s “Work” (Virgin EMI) is at #2, but scores the most streamed track of the week with 5.23m listens.

Thanks to radio support from the Capital network, Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” (Island) is up eight places to #3, and Jonas Blue and Dakota's "Fast Car" (Positiva) rounds off the Top 5.
