In addition to dominating the Rap category and being the most-nominated artist overall—not to mention delivering the most fiery performance, literally and figuratively, of the evening—TDE/Interscope's Kendrick Lamar did something else that was extraordinary on Grammy night: He brought students from Compton High School, his alma mater, to the show.
The Reebok-sponsored initiative not only enabled the kids to see the show and its attendant menagerie of megastars, but also to have a Q&A with Lamar. Meanwhile, the students learned valuable life lessons at the Grammys, such as how to have a meltdown on the red carpet because somebody else brought the same Fendi bag.
