ADELE STRIKES A POSE

Vogue's March Cover Features XL/Columbia's Fearless Icon

In an interview with Vogue for the cover (shot by Annie Leibovitz), XL/Columbia superstar Adele shows her mature side, explaining why she's unafraid in this stage of her career, the importance of her team—notably manager and comrade Jonathan Dickins—how she got to where she is and how the birth of her son, Madonna's Ray of Light and Moby's Play inspired her to break her hiatus.

In regard to Dickins bringing her into every meeting and always making sure she's involved in all aspects of her business, she says, “That’s why I’m not afraid." One of the things I enjoy most about my career now is that my main team is the same, so we’ve all had this experience together, which makes it really special. It can be quite lonely just getting bigger and bigger—but not when I’ve got everyone around me.”

She also touches on discovering Tobias Jesso Jr. and writing "When We Were Young"—her favorite song on 25—with him. Following that, she discusses the process of working with some other collaborators, namely Max Martin, Greg Kurstin and Bruno Mars.

“I’ve always been a really big fan of Bruno,” she shares, “but when we worked together he was beyond. He can do anything, literally singing the best vocals you’ve ever heard live in your life while he is playing a drum or a bass or doing some mad percussion riff. I think he definitely will be the biggest, biggest, biggest artist in the world.”

The detailed article ends with writer Hamish Bowles watching Adele get her glam on in the dressing room before her performance on the season finale of the U.K.'s X Factor. Read it in full here. 'Tis a charmer.
