Dr. Alexander Buhr has been appointed Managing Director of Universal Music’s London-based Decca Classics, a role he’ll continue alongside his current job as MD of Mercury Classics. Buhr succeeds Paul Moseley, who has been promoted to SVP of Strategic Content and Partnerships, Global Classics.
Mercury Classics is a label launched by Buhr in 2012 that will now be part of the Decca Record Group.
In his new international role, Moseley will work across all UMG's classical labels worldwide to oversee the strategic management of the company’s classical recording and audiovisual assets.
Buhr reports to Rebecca Allen, Decca Record Group’s MD, who now assumes responsibility for all of Decca’s operations. Moseley reports to Dickon Stainer, President and CEO of Global Classics.
