GAGA GETS BOWIE FROM EHRLICH

A couple of weeks ago, we posted an open letter to Grammy producer and talent matchmaker Ken Ehrlich suggesting artist-song pairings for the anticipated Bowie-tribute segment of the show. One of our scenarios had Lady Gaga doing “Life on Mars.”

It turns out we got the first half of the equation—the Recording Academy announced this morning that Gaga had won the Bowie-tribute lottery. The good news is that the musical director for the segment is Nile Rodgers, who co-produced and played on 1983’s Let’s Dance.

It's also been revealed that Gaga will sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. No word yet whether she'll have a lightning bolt on her face for that.
