NYC mayor Bill de Blasio has dubbed today (1/20/16) David Bowie Day in the Big Apple.
The proclamation of such will be read tonight at the curtain call of the final performance of Lazarus' sold-out run. The New York Theater Workshop production was of course co-created by Bowie.
The rock icon’s final album Blackstar (Columbia), which was recently confirmed as his first to top the U.S. charts, debuted at #1 in more than 20 territories, including the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and Japan.
Since the set’s release on 1/8, it’s also hit #1 on iTunes in 69 countries, including the States.
Cheers to you, Starman.
