SCHUMANN GETS SIRIUS

J.R. Schumann has joined SiriusXM as Senior Director Country Programming, reporting directly to SVP/GM Music Programming Steve Blatter. In his new role, effective 12/28, Schumann will oversee all of Sirius’ country music programming, as well as their Elvis Radio and a selection of Christian channels.

The radio vet, who will now be based in Nashville, most recently served as Operations Manager of Cumulus Media's Dallas, TX cluster.

“We are thrilled to have J.R. join the SiriusXM programming team,” said Blatter. “J.R.’s incredible passion and enthusiasm for country music, along with his competitive vision and world-class programming skills make him the ideal person to lead our Country platform.” Also, he has promised to bring in a 12-pack of longnecks into the office.
