ADELE, TAYLOR, GARRATT, HOZIER AMONG BBC AWARD WINNERS

Adele has emerged victor of this year's BBC Music Awards in Blighty, taking home two out of five gongs for British Artist of the Year and BBC Live Performance of the Year for her 'At the BBC' special. Even though she emerged from the shadows as 2015 neared to an end, there's no doubt the XL/Columbia star thoroughly deserved the honors with the groundbreaking success of 25.

Big Machine's Taylor Swift was International Artist of the Year and Hozier's "Take Me To Church" (Island) was named Song of the Year (despite being released in 2013) by the public. The Island singer/songwriter was up against Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and The Weeknd in the ten strong shortlist that featured the most-played songs on BBC radio and television in Blighty in 2015. It was the second win for Darcus Beese's UMG U.K. label as Hozier joins previously reported winner, Island multi-instrumentalist Jack Garratt, who is the BBC Introducing Act.

Amongst performers were Atlantic's Jess Glynne, Virgin EMI's James Bay and SYCO phenomenon One Direction, who played their last ever gig before taking a hiatus next year.
