J. Cole and his Dreamville camp, who recently set up shop as a label with a JV deal brokered by Joie Manda at Interscope, has gifted fans with an early Xmas present by suddenly dropping the new mixtape Revenge Of The Dreamers II five days ahead of schedule.
The set is currently sitting at #2 on the iTunes album chart, ahead of Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams—impressive for a compilation that features mostly developing artists.
Cole took to Twitter late last night to personally give the music to fans who tweeted him their email address.
The nine-song collection is a sequel to his January 2014 mixtape, Revenge of the Dreamers, and features Dreamville label crew Bas, Omen, Elite, Ari Lennox and Cozz with three songs featuring Cole.
This success follows the announcement earlier this week of a forthcoming 90-minute special that's part documentary and part live concert, called J Cole: Forest Hills Drive Homecoming that will be broadcast on HBO on January 9. Check out the trailer below.
