Virgin EMI U.K.'s Emeli Sandé, who won two BRITs for Our Version of Events—her 2.2m-selling, 2012 debut—has been somewhat silent in the last few years but is now back with her own management firm. With Ruth Titmarsh, Sandé (also a Critic's Choice honoree) launched Jupiter Management, which exists as a JV with Roc Nation. The announcement was made on the star's Facebook page alongside a message explaining her hiatus.
Titmarsh, who's supported Sandé "from day zero," worked as her assistant from 2009. Decisive Management's Adrian Sykes is now Sandé's former manager, a man who has been "a father figure" to her since moving to London aged 16. Ted Cockle's Virgin EMI, which sits under David Joseph's Universal in Blighty, is still Sandé's U.K. label, however.
Our Version of Events spent 66 consecutive weeks in the Official U.K. Albums Top 10 in 2013, making it the second longest unbroken run ever for a debut album (Sam Smith holds the top title with In The Lonely Hour notching up 67 weeks earlier this year).
