After one day of availability, Apple Music for Android doesn’t appear anywhere on the Google Play chart. The download count for the app remains at 100-500, where it was shortly after release yesterday.
Has the system just not caught up with the actual flow of downloads? Is Google manipulating the low download numbers from a competing service? Has the Play chart not yet caught up to the number of downloads? Google Play users must install an app before leaving a review. There are currently 6,918 reviews, with a 3.1 average rating. The number of five-star and one-star reviews are nearly the same, making up 77% of the total ratings and further illustrating the polarizing attitude of Apple software on Android.
As the Apple Music app is still in beta, perhaps Android users are waiting for the final product? Or does this exemplify the uphill road Apple must travel to gain acceptance from its fiercest mobile competitor’s devoted customers?
