NEW MUSIC BLIGHTY: IT'S ALL ABOUT ELLIE

Polydor U.K. has an aggressive marketing plan for Ellie Goulding's third album Delirium, which is likely to be the coming week's biggest Blighty-born release. Polydor chief Ferdy Unger-Hamilton and marketing man Jack Melhuish are going in all guns blazing from week one onward with a campaign spanning TV, social media and radio.

TV-wise, Goulding recorded an interview and performance on BBC Friday night chat show Graham Norton yesterday to be aired tonight. An appearance on annual charity extravaganza Children in Need will air 11/13, followed by TFI Friday on 11/27. The TV campaign will carry on right up until Christmas with the BBC Awards on 12/10 and the Top of the Pops Christmas and New Year's Eve specials.

For radio, Goulding dropped in to Maida Vale on Wednesday to record a session for Annie Mac's show, which was broadcast that night, and there are various exclusives happening this week across Zane Lowe's Beats 1 and Global's Kiss.

Spotify will host an “anatomy of a song'” video wherein Goulding discusses the writing and creative process behind a track from Delirium, as well as a 30-minute Running Originals mix of new and old material that changes tempo based on the runner’s speed. Dolby has been enlisted too to showcase a four-track Abbey Road session in several thousand cinemas across the U.K. and Europe tomorrow that will play before every film that's shown.

On Saturday's X Factor, a partnership with Amazon and ITV will see a 60-second takeover slot running in the ad break at 9.30pm GMT of Goulding singing an intimate recording of her Fifty Shades of Grey track "Love Me Like You Do".

Album-listening parties will happen across Twitter today, and an #AmexUNSTAGED gig will see Goulding partnered with actress Scarlett Johansson, who will direct her concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC on 11/11, a 30-minute audio cutdown of which will air on over 150 iHeartRadio stations the following day. A photo project with Tumblr and celeb photographer Conor McDonnell (who shot Kim & Kanye's wedding pictures) will take place on 11/10.

U.S. TV wise, Goulding will be on Good Morning America 11/9, Jimmy Fallon 11/10, The Ellen Show on 11/24 and the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on 12/8, with lots more in the works that's yet to be announced. Phew, we're spent just writing that.

Delirium looks set to be Goulding's biggest album of her career, out via Martin Kierszenbaum’s Cherrytree/Interscope in the U.S. Credits for the set read like a who’s-who of pop songwriting royalty, with names like Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and Greg Kurstin involved. Unger-Hamilton is hoping Delirium will transform Goulding into a global pop artist, and the promo campaign leaves little doubt about the size of his ambition. You can read more about the LP here.

Universal has another big release out today with the extended version of Capitol star Sam Smith's blockbuster debut album In the Lonely Hour. A “creative collaboration” with fashion brand Balenciaga (whose autumn/winter 2015 campaign is fronted by Smith), In the Lonely Hour: The Drowning Shadows Edition will feature a second CD with nine new and exclusive tracks. Title track "Drowning Shadows" was revealed on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show on 11/2.

Over at Sony, Modest!-managed girl group Little Mix, signed to SYCO after appearing on The X Factor in 2011, are now on their third album. Get Weird, out today, is pure pop, with tracks produced by trio TMS, Maegan Cottone and others. First single "Black Magic" reached #1 on the U.K. Singles Chart in May and has since been certified gold. Second official release "Love Me Like You" didn't fare as well, reaching #21.
