TIDAL X 1020 LIGHTS UP BK

Tidal X 1020 shook the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last night in a big celebration to tout 1m subscribers, but the memorable, pop culture moment came from Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé, who—armed with dueling girl squads dressed in black and pink—took the stage together to shut the entire show down with their performance of "Feeling Myself."

This was ladies night in Brooklyn. After more than a year grinding on a world tour, Minaj is a ridiculous badass live, and delivered tightly choreographed numbers for "Truffle Butter," and "Moment 4 Life" before Queen Bey showed up. Then it was just flames.

The rest of the lineup included rock group Indochine, country artist Thomas Rhett, Justine Skye, Nick Jonas, Vic Mensa, T.I., Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Brooklyn native Fabolous and of course its finest, Jay Z, with some standout performances from Alessia Cara, Usher with Bibi Bourelly and Nas.

Most of the artists breezed through sets that consisted of just one song each. The charity message was clear and present via regular PSAs; themes of social justice rang through video pieces that aired in between performances. Power 105.1 DJ and Roc Nation's own Angie Martinez also did some hosting duties.

Noticably missing were Travi$ Scott and Prince, who mysteriously canceled earlier in the day.

Not sure anyone missed him with Nicki and Beyoncé, though. Perhaps he saw rehearsals.
