KWATMAN'S FIRM PILOTS NEW ABC LEGAL SERIES

Jeff Kwatinetz's newly relaunched The Firm has landed a new drama, Notorious, at ABC in what Deadline Hollywood describes as "a competitive situation with a put pilot commitment." (In other words, the pilot will air either as a special or a series or the creators get a fat "penalties" check.)

The series, produced in conjunction with Sony Pictures TV, is based on the relationship between attorney Mark Geragos and TV producer Wendy Walker, who serve as EPs along with Kwatman, writer Josh Berman, head of TV Josh Barry and renowned entertainment attorney Kenny Meiselas. The latter's client list has included Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Sean Combs, Usher and Whitney Houston.

The show will reportedly explore the relationship between the law and media in provocative ways. It's the fourth network series notched by The Firm since its relaunch, following NBC's music-spiced drama Talent. Kwatinetz and Barry have also presented Royal Pains, Salem and Wilfred.
