Fox's Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials was the highest grossing film this weekend, earning $30m. Meanwhile, Warner Bros.' Whitey Bulger biopic Black Mass—which stars Johnny Depp as the renowned gangster—and Universal's Everest debuted in the Top 5.

Just outside the Top 20, Lionsgate's mystery/crime flick Sicario, led by Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro, earned an impressive average of $65k across just six theaters, a record for 2015 and the second highest ever for Lionsgate.
