The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films Domestically

Following a tight race to #1, two thrillers top the list of the weekend's highest-grossing films. Screen Gems' The Perfect Guy is the big winner, earning $27m. On its heels, Universal's The Visit—directed by M Night Shamylan—brought in $26m, more than 5x its $5m budget.

1. The Perfect Guy (Screen Gems) $27m 2,221/$12,022 avg. (debut)
2. The Visit (Universal) $26m 3,069/$8,371 avg. (debut)
3. War Room (TriStar) $7m 1,647/$4,493 avg. (week 3)
4. A Walk in the Woods (Broad Green) $5m 2,139/$2,160 avg. (week 2)
5. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (Paramount) $4m 2,649/$1,567 avg. (week 7)

Meanwhile, Disney's family-friendly animated feature Inside Out makes a big move, pushing ahead of Universal's Furious 7 and becoming the third-highest-grossing domestic release of the year with just north of $351m and approximately $747m worldwide.
