CHART FINAL:
TRY THE PUNCH

Five Finger Death Punch Top the Album Chart, The Weeknd Holds at #1 on SPS

Prospect Park’s hard-charging rockers Five Finger Death Punch have scored their first #1 album with Got Your Six, topping the HITS Album Sales Chart with nearly 109k and the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 114k.

This marks Caroline’s fourth #1 album this year following chart-toppers by All Time Low, Alabama Shakes and Tyrese.

On the SPS side of things, however, XO/Republic’s The Weeknd reigns in the top spot with 142k for Beauty Behind the Madness. In the wake of his incendiary VMAs performance, the album quickly overtook Drake's seven-day streaming record of 48m. How’s that for a little perspective?

Three other debuts bow in the Top 5. Epic rapper Travis Scott comes in at #3 with his third studio album, Rodeo, and BMG mayhem-bringers Iron Maiden land at #4 with Book of Souls—which just topped the album chart in the U.K.—while YouTube sensation and Capitol newcomer Troye Sivan rounds out the Top 5 with his EP, Wild.

Meanwhile, America’s favorite underdog of the moment, Astralwerks/Capitol’s Halsey, remains in the Top 10 for Badlands’ second week on the chart.

As for the remaining debuts, the 12th studio album from BMG rapper Scarface comes in at #8 and the fifth from HopelessThe Wonder Years bows at #11.

Thanks to the expanded release of Universal’s massively successful N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, the iconic group’s album (of the same name) hovers in the Top 15. That being said, Dr. Dre’s inspired-by soundtrack, Compton (Aftermath/Interscope), stays strong at #13.

Driven by the major buzz accumulating on Shawn Mendes’ latest single, “Stitches,” his breakout full-length, Handwritten (Island), rockets into the Top 20 at SPS and re-enters the album sales chart at #42. The song is #5 on the iTunes pop chart and #10 overall at press time.

Speaking of iTunes, the Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack re-enters at #34 following the film’s digital release on the media giant.

Streeting last Friday were albums from Warner Bros.Gary Clark Jr., Columbia’s Bring Me the Horizon, Warner Bros.’ Duran Duran, Def Jam’s Leona Lewis, Nuclear Blast’s Slayer and Concord’s Jewel.

Nothing has been confirmed as to when Donald Trump and Kanye West’s collaborative mixtape is due out, but you can surely expect some fire beats.
