CLOSING THE BOOK
ON THIS WEEK'S
U.K. CHARTS

As predicted earlier this week, Parlophone’s Iron Maiden have smashed their way to the top of the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart, selling just over 60k combined sales of their 16th studio album, The Book Of Souls. Accompanied by a promo campaign with supermarket giant Tesco, who stocked the vinyl version of the LP in 55 of its biggest stores this week (for the first time), the band have scored their fifth #1 album.

Maiden's nearest competitor, the debut from Atlantic U.K.’s Jess Glynne, is at #2 for the second week running after hitting the top spot on its release, while Republic’s The Weeknd slides from #1 to #3 with The Beauty Behind The Madness. Capitol’s Sam Smith moves from #5 to #4 with In The Lonely Hour after announcing he’s to sing the next James Bond theme and the Top 5 is completed by rising Polydor star Troye Sivan and his Wild EP.

London DJ Sigala has indeed robbed Justin Bieber of his second week atop the U.K.'s Official Singles Chart, with Jackson 5 sampling Ministry of Sound release, Easy Love. The track, which was written in his bedroom after “a couple of beers”, has racked up a combined chart sales figure of over 82k this week, rocketing 71 places.

Bieber is at #2 with What Do You Mean (released via Ted Cockle's Virgin EMI in the U.K.) while Jess Glynne’s Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself is up two places at #3, followed by Columbia’s Calvin Harris & Disciples’ collab How Deep Is Your Love at #4 and The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face at #5.
