GORMAN IS TOWER'S NEW PROMO ALTERNATIVE

Capitol Music Group has brought Gary Gorman aboard as SVP Alternative Promotion, reporting to Head of Promo Dennis Reese, EVP Greg Thompson has announced. In his new post at the Tower, Gorman will oversee Alt promo for Capitol, Virgin, Harvest and Astralwerks.

Thompson praised Gorman—a 17-year veteran of Warner Music Group—as “a highly respected and experienced promotion executive, known industry-wide and within the artist community for his passion, drive and ability to get results.”

For his part, Gorman hailed CMG’s “ongoing and amazing resurgence,” noting that “Steve Barnett has built a spectacular team here, and a culture of artist development that permeates every facet of the company. My sincere thanks to him, Greg, Dennis and Michelle Jubelirer for all of their support and faith as I begin this exciting new chapter in my career.”

Gorman's first task will be to scour his new office for old roaches left behind by the Beastie Boys.
