A MAIDEN VOYAGE TO #1 ON U.K. CHART

Parlophone’s metal icons Iron Maiden are poised to score their fifth U.K. #1 album on Friday with their 16th studio release, Book of Souls. The veteran rockers are currently 30k+ combined chart sales ahead of their nearest rival, Atlantic U.K. act Jess Glynne's debut LP, according to the Official Charts Company.

Glynne’s I Cry When I Laugh is currently sitting in the same spot as last week (having hit #1 upon release on 8/21). Other new entries to the Official Albums Chart Top 5 include Polydor singer-songwriter Troye Sivan’s EP Wild (#3), and another hard-rocking entry, Got Your Six by Eleven Seven’s Five Finger Death Punch, currently at #4. Rounding out the midweek Top 5 is last week’s #1 from The Weeknd, The Beauty Behind The Madness.

In singles-related news, the only new entry to the chart is London DJ Sigala’s club track, “Easy Love” (Ministry of Sound), which looks set to rob Justin Bieber of a second week atop the Official U.K. Singles Chart. Sampling the Jackson 5 hit “ABC,” “Easy Love” rose a stratospheric 70 places, after entering the Top 100 at #71 last week based on streams alone.
