CHART STORY: THE FORCE IS WITH LUKE

Luke Bryan Reigns Again in Second Week

Capitol Nashville's Luke Bryan enjoys a second week atop the HITS Album Sales Chart with 84k and the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 99k.

Powered by a 99-cent sale at Google Play, Ed Sheeran's X jumps #11-2 with 79k.

Dr. Dre's Compton: A Soundtrack (Aftermath/Interscope) moves to #3 in its second week, garnering another 43k.

N.W.A's original Straight Outta Compton (Priority/UMe) leaps all the way from #23 to a lofty #5—the highest chart position in the album's 27 years of existence—as the movie's stratospheric box office drives big interest.

Also thanks to Compton-mania, another hip hop classic, Dre's The Chronic (Death Row/eOne), jumped #37-24.

At #4, the 55th (!) installment of the Now franchise bows with 39k, while RCA rockers Bullet For By Valentine debut at #7, eOne's Chinx arrives at #11 and Hopeless' Neck Deep and Hollywood's Grace Potter appear at #13 and 14, respectively.

Thanks to the USPS commemorative stamp tie-in, RCA's Elvis Presley Forever bows at #8. For you younger readers, Elvis was the King of Rock 'n' Roll, and stamps are these sticky things you put on letters. What are letters, you ask? Never mind.

Over at SPS, Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late (YMCMB/Republic) holds strong at #13 after 26 weeks on the chart. What's behind its longevity? Well, for one, the album (or "mixtape") was streamed more than any other album on Spotify in the U.S. this week. Apparently, it's never too late for Drake.

Streeting this week are albums from Reprise's Disturbed, Island's Bon Jovi, MCA Nashville's Kip Moore and School Boy/Interscope's Carly Rae Jepsen, along with physical product on Dre's Compton.
