Lionel Richie will be honored as the MusiCares' Person of the Year at the org's 26th annual benefit gala, scheduled for 2/13/16 (two days before The Grammys).
So far, the evening's confirmed performers include Pharrell, Lady Antebellum and Luke Bryan, with more TBA.
"Each year our MusiCares Person of the Year tribute honors an extraordinary artist and humanitarian who lends their considerable time and talents to raising the funds necessary to continue to meet the ever-increasing need for our programs and services," shared MusiCares and NARAS President/CEO Neil Portnow.
"And it is truly a privilege to be paying tribute to Lionel, whose musical gifts and philanthropy have touched millions of people around the world," he continued.
"Lionel's artistry is a genuine blend of emotional connection and poignant lyricism, and we look forward to a truly magical evening that will highlight his astonishing and inspiring body of work," added Chair of the MusiCares Foundation Board, Bill Silva.
It'll be so magical, the group is sure to end the night "dancing on the ceiling." Well, at least the copious amounts of champagne will make it feel that way.
