POTUS PLAYS WITH SPOTIFY

He's well known for resisting all requests to part with his Blackberry and often breaks out into song at parties and eulogies, so it was only a matter of time before President Barack Obama dropped a playlist on us like a drone blast.

Even more interesting than his music selections was that our Commander-in-Chief chose Sweden-based Spotify (American rival Apple Music not being Blackberry-accessible yet) to deliver his favorite jams. Two new lists, The President's Summer Playlist: Day and its after-hours companion piece The President's Summer Playlist: Night debuted in the service today, and feature some very sophisticated music picks.

Coltrane, Al Green, Joni Mitchell and Frank Sinatra classics are mixed in with some fresh material from Lianne La Havas, John Legend, and Brandi Carlile. Each playlist debuted with 20 songs each. Search #POTUSPlaylist to for more.
