Veteran sales exec Dominic Pandiscia is stepping down as the President of Caroline, UMG’s indie-distribution company, which operates under the CMG umbrella. EVP Mike Harris is expected to take over Pandiscia’s responsibilities.

The highly regarded exec has ruled the indie distribbery since early 2013; prior to that he served as EVP Commercial & Revenue Development at EMI Music.

Pandiscia started his music-biz career in the EMI system in 1989, working in various marketing and sales capacities; he spent 13 years at Virgin, ascending to the post of SVP Sales, and returned to EMI in 2007 after a brief stint at Capitol.

Caroline, which has experienced three straight years of marketshare growth on Pandiscia and Harris’ watch, has been having a particularly good year under the CMG umbrella, scoring three #1 debuts so far this year across three different genres with Alabama Shakes, All Time Low and Tyrese. These releases—the first chart-toppers in the 33-year history of Caroline—have figured prominently in the company’s 20% marketshare growth year-to-date.
