KENDRICK TO KICK OFF COLBERT

Lamar to Perform on New Host's First Broadcast of The Late Show

Set your DVR, buddy. Stephen Colbert is ready to take the Late Show reins, as the first episode is set to air less than a month from now (9/8). TDE/Aftermath/Interscope's Kendrick Lamar, who was Colbert's last musical guest on The Colbert Report, will be the first music artist on the new show (some dude named George Clooney has also been booked to appear).

This will be a very different Colbert than the one we've grown accustomed to.
“I’m looking forward to being sincerely interested in what they have to say without having to translate it through an idiot’s mouth,” he acknowledged.

Also, make sure to prepare yourself; assuming he's still in the race, Colbert has a loaded gun of Donald Trump-centered commentary, and claims he's been stuck "dry-Trumping" while not on the air.

“Every night before I go to bed, I light a candle and pray that he stays in the race, and I also pray that no one puts that candle anywhere near his hair."

Let the games begin.
