CHART STORY:
STURM UND DRANG
AND CHA-CHING

Four Albums Debut in the Top 5

Blues Babe’s Jill Scott has topped the HITS Building Album Sales Chart with 58k and the Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) Chart with 61k for Woman.

Epic’s Lamb of God follows at #2, as VII: Sturm und Drang bows with 49k. Meanwhile. LA Reid is reportedly in the process of forming a mosh-pit at the label’s offices, and can be heard growling “#BeEpiiiiic!” whilst headbanging. Meanwhile, L.A. and team are also celebrating the #4 sophomore week for last week's chart-topper, Future; the rapper had an even better showing on our Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) chart, about which see below.

Speaking of being Epic, we really appreciate this celebratory Vine they posted.

The Southpaw official soundtrack rounds out the Top 3, raking in 33k for Shady/Interscope.

One of HITS’ own Vibe Raters artists, Bea Miller, enjoys a strong first week for her debut album, Not an Apology. At #5, the set snags 26k for SYCO/Hollywood.

As for the rest of the debuts, We Came As Romans' self-titled release (Equal Vision) lands at #8, while Jack & Jack’s Calibraska EP (Jack & Jack) appears at #12 and Hopspin's Pound Syndrome (Funk Volume) trails the pack at #13.

At SPS, Future's DS2 slides ever so slightly to #2, earning another 52k for A1/Freebandz/Epic.

Thanks to strong singles, MCA Nashville's Sam Hunt sees a nice bump at SPS, as he remains in the Top 10 there. Also benefiting from multiple smashes, DCD2/Island's Fall Out Boy sees a #16-36 difference when compared to album sales alone.

The king of streaming, YMCMB/Republic's Drake, on the other hand, continues his hot streak with a #13-31 difference.

Streeting this week is an album from CMSN's Lil Dicky. as well as Rhino's very tasty Led Zeppelin reissues and Disney's Descendants ST, which chronicles the musical adventures of some well-known villains' offspring.

Speaking of musicals, the Donald Trump revue, Shut Up While I'm Talking and Don't Touch the Hair, has been suspended due to a labor dispute and uncertainty over public-breastfeeding regulations.
